AMBULATORY ARTERIAL STIFFNESS INDEX AS A MARKER OF ARTERIAL STIFFNESS
2010Objective: Increased arterial stiffness (AS) has been shown to predict cardiovascular mortality in patients with essential hypertension (EH). Ambulatory arterial stiffness index (AASI) was proposed as a surrogate measurement method for determination of AS. Although, some authors showed prognostic value of AASI, this is still a controversial issue.

Animal Models of Arterial Stiffness
2006Animal models of large artery wall stiffness fall into two categories: firstly those that slowly develop multifactorial vascular dysfunction spontaneously, such as the ageing rat. The second type of model consists of those in which a specific pathology is induced by surgical, chemical, or genetic means.
