Development of arteriosclerosis
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1973Abstract Atherosclerosis is regarded as a polyetiologic, polypathogenetic family of closely related vascular lesions. Current ideas about the evolution of arterial fatty streaks in children into atherosclerotic plaques of adult type are discussed. Fatty streaks in children appear to be equally prevalent and severe in all populations.
