Bioprinted Micro‐Clots for Kinetic Analysis of Endothelial Cell‐Mediated Fibrinolysis
This paper describes the development of a microscale model that quantifies the breakdown of fibrin by endothelial cells. The small size scale of this engineered system enables fibrin breakdown to be observed without the addition of external activators. This system could help in identifying compounds which both promote and hinder thrombosis.

Engineering the Future of Restorative Clinical Peripheral Nerve Surgery
What if damaged nerves could regenerate more effectively? This review unveils cutting‐edge strategies to restore nerve function, from biomaterial scaffolds and bioactive molecules to living engineered tissues. By accelerating axonal regrowth, preserving Schwann cells, and enhancing connectivity, these approaches are reshaping nerve repair—offering new ...

Glucocorticoids Alter Bone Microvascular Barrier via MAPK/Connexin43 Mechanisms
Osteoporosis induced by Glucocorticoids (GCs) is a common complication of long‐term GC use in patients with inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, often leading to an increased fracture risk. A 3D bicellular endo‐osteo microfluidic platform is developed to explore pathogenic mechanisms underlying GCs‐induced osteoporosis, highlighting a novel MAPK ...

Biologic treatments in rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis [PDF]
A number of biological approaches to the management of inflammtory arthropathies have been explored. These include the development of IL-1 receptor antagonists and TNF antagonists. Four biological agents are currently marketed in Europe.

Familial clustering is a common feature of many different arthritic conditions which can be explained by shared genetic or environmental influences or a combination of these. The aetiology of some of these diseases (e.g. multiple epiphyseal dysplasia, Lesch-Nyan syndrome) is clearly monogenic but the majority of common rheumatic conditions, such as ...
