We determined the morphological taxonomy of eighteen nematophagous fungi (NF), as well as their in vitro predatory activity against Haemonchus contortus infective larvae (L3). Fungi were classified into six genera and three species, the most common of which were Monacrosporium eudermatum and Arthrobotrys oligospora.

Formation of the Infection Bulb in Arthrobotrys oligospora Fresenius [PDF]
IN network- and knob-forming Hyphomycetes which are predacious on nematodes, it has long been considered that the structure known as the infection bulb is in some way instrumental in bringing about the death of the prey.

IbPIF1 confers stem nematode resistance by regulating secondary metabolites in sweet potato
Summary The stem nematode (Ditylenchus destructor Thorne) is a pervasive and destructive plant‐parasitic nematode worldwide, inflicting severe agricultural and economic losses in a wide range of crops. Despite its global impact, the molecular mechanisms underlying plant resistance to this pathogen remain poorly understood. Our previous studies in sweet

Arthrobotrys musiformis is a nematophagous fungus with potential for the biological control of Haemonchus contortus larvae. This study aimed to identify and demonstrate the proteolytic activity of extracellular products from A musiformis cultured in a liquid medium against H contortus infective larvae.

CWI‐MAPKs Regulate the Formation of Hyphopodia Required for Virulence in Ceratocystis fimbriata
The Slt2‐Swi6 pathway is crucial for the pathogenicity of Ceratocystis fimbriata. It regulates septin assembly at the base of the penetration peg, thereby influencing penetration peg formation—a key virulence determinant. ABSTRACT Ceratocystis fimbriata is a destructive fungal pathogen that infects various economic crops.

The objective of this study was to assess antagonism of nematophagous fungi and species producers metabolites and their effectiveness on Haemonchus contortus infective larvae (L3). Assay A assesses the synergistic, additive, or antagonistic effect on the production of spores of fungal isolates of the species Duddingtonia flagrans, Clonostachys rosea ...

Thraustochytrids exhibit four distinct polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) biosynthetic types: Type I (ELO/DES pathway), Type II (dual‐pathway) and Types III–IV (PUFA‐S pathway with varying gene losses). This genetic diversity in PUFA biosynthesis pathways provides new perspectives for understanding their evolutionary relationships and potential ...

Abstract Gastrointestinal helminth parasites undergo part of their life cycle outside their host, such that developmental stages interact with the soil and dung fauna. These interactions are capable of affecting parasite transmission on pastures yet are generally ignored in current models, empirical studies and practical management. Dominant methods of
