Bioinspired Soft‐Skeleton Robotics With Cooperative Shape Transformation and Stiffness Adaptation
A bioinspired soft‐skeleton robot that integrates variable‐stiffness chain skeletons into a soft textile skin is developed. The chain skeletons are highly flexible initially but can stiffen upon pneumatic actuation, enabling large deformation and enhanced load‐bearing capacity.

Longterm results of open surgical repair of rotator cuff tears
Objectives: We evaluated the long-term results of rotator cuff tears treated by open surgical repair.\nMethods: Ninety shoulders of 88 patients (36 females, 52 males; mean age 57 years; range 36 to 75 years) with rotator cuff tears were treated by open ...

Preliminary characterisation of the surface of cartilage following exposure to saturated and unsaturated synthetic lips [PDF]
Articular cartilage is covered by a microscopic structure known as surface amorphous layer. This surface structure is often the first victim of attack during cartilage degeneration, thereby resulting in a gross impairment in cartilage function such as ...

In a lumbar spine instability model, dorsal root ganglion cells mediate the perception of relevant mechanical stresses through Piezo2 and subsequently release CGRP. CGRP activates the NF‐κB signaling pathway in cartilage endplate cells through the receptor RAMP1.

Chronic septic arthritis involves intracellular bacterial persistence and lipid‐immune crosstalk via the PGRN‐BMP lysosomal axis. A dual‐targeting nanoparticle system (NPs@PGRN) restores lysosomal bactericidal function, reduces bacterial burden, and reprograms macrophage immunity, offering a novel therapeutic strategy. ABSTRACT Chronic septic arthritis,

The thickness of the calcified layer of articular cartilage [PDF]
The thickness of both the articular cartilage and its calcified zone were measured at 25 carefully selected points in 8 human femoral heads, and the ratio of one to the other was found to be remarkably constant for each bone.

We established patient‐derived SWN cell lines and orthotopic PDX models that recapitulate patient pain phenotypes, alongside a novel intravital DRG imaging platform to track macrophage infiltration and neuronal pain responses. Using these models, we define HMGB1–CCL2–IL‐6 signaling crosstalk driving pain and identify EGF signaling as a key regulator of

Introduction: This study hypothesized that changes in the elasticity of the quadriceps and patellar tendons before and after the diagnosis of patellar tendinopathy would correlate with the range of motion (ROM) following conservative treatment.

This study reveals that abnormal mechanical stress downregulates the expression of HSP70 and impairs proteasome function in osteoarthritic bone cells, leading to misfolded collagen I accumulation and ER stress. When intracellular proteostasis capacity is exceeded, USP19 mediates the secretion of misfolded proteins into the extracellular space ...

Fibular transfer in a nineweekold infant for complete congenital absence of the tibia
The treatment of complete congenital absence of the tibia is controversial. The goal of the treatment is to construct a satisfactorily functioning knee joint, for which fibular transfer was described as an appropriate method.
