Caenorhabditis elegans as an in vivo model system for human inherited primary arrhythmia syndromes
Abstract figure legend Most genes involved in inherited primary arrhythmia syndromes (IPAS) are conserved in Caenorhabditis elegans, where genetic manipulation enables functional characterization of variants, identification of regulatory proteins, and in vivo drug testing.

Abstract figure legend Potassium‐selective KV1.2 channels are encoded by the KCNA2 gene and regulate electrical signalling in neurons. KCNA2 genetic variants are associated with epileptic and developmental encephalopathy. We characterized two variants that subtly alter the channel's amino acid composition, p.H310D and p.G318D.

Abstract Background G protein‐coupled receptors are a large and functionally diverse family of membrane receptors involved in a number of biological processes. Like other proteins, G protein‐coupled receptors need to be properly folded in order to traffic to the plasma membrane and interact with agonist.

This study demonstrates that somatic PIK3CA mutations suppress PPT1 expression via activation of the PI3K–AKT–c‐JUN axis. This reduction in PPT1 weakens its interaction with P300, thereby increasing palmitoylation at C1176 of P300 and protecting P300 from lysosomal degradation.

Molecular bases of insect odorant receptor function: specificity and evolution
ABSTRACT Insect odorant receptors (ORs) are a class of chemoreceptors that insects use to detect volatile cues in their environment. In recent years, major advances in the field of structural biology have made it possible to obtain the first structures of insect ORs.

ABSTRACT Ovarian leiomyoma (OL) is an exceedingly rare benign tumor that originates from ovarian smooth muscle cells and accounts for approximately 0.5%–1% of all benign ovarian neoplasms. To date, around 100 cases have been documented worldwide.

Evaluation of PLCζ and PAWP Expression in Globozoospermic Individuals
Objective: Globozoospermia is a rare type of teratozoospermia with incidence of 0.1% among infertile individuals. Phospholipase C zeta (PLCζ) and postacrosomal sheath WW domain binding protein (PAWP) are the main candidates in sperm taking ...

Seasonal changes in sexual maturity and fecundity, and HCG-induced breeding of the catfish, Heterobranchus longifilis val. (claridae), reared in Ebrie Lagoon (Ivory Coast) [PDF]
Oocyte maturation and ovulation were induced with human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the African catfish, #Heterobranchus longifilis$. Females with a mean oocyte diameter of at least 1.1 mm were used.
