Metcamifen safeguards fluazifop for the gradual conversion of hybrid bermudagrass fairways to manilagrass

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 117, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
Abstract Golf courses throughout the southern United States have begun converting fairways from hybrid bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon × C. transvaalensis Burtt‐Davy) to manilagrass [Zoysia matrella (L.) Merr.]. Recognition (trifloxysulfuron + metcamifen) can be tank‐mixed with fluazifop to gradually remove hybrid bermudagrass during conversion ...

Scientific Opinion on an application by DOW AgroSciences LLC (EFSA‐GMO‐NL‐2010‐89) for placing on the market the genetically modified herbicide‐tolerant maize DAS‐40278‐9 for food and feed uses, import and processing under Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2016
Maize DAS‐40278‐9 was developed by direct Whiskers‐mediated transformation to express the aryloxyalkanoate dioxygenase‐1 (AAD‐1) protein, conferring tolerance to 2,4‐dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4‐D) and aryloxyphenoxypropionate (AOPP) herbicides.

An isoleucine/leucine residue in the carboxyltransferase domain of acetyl-CoA carboxylase is critical for interaction with aryloxyphenoxypropionate and cyclohexanedione inhibitors [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2001
cDNA fragments encoding the carboxyltransferase domain of the multidomain plastid acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase) from herbicide-resistant maize and from herbicide-sensitive and herbicide-resistant Lolium rigidum were cloned and sequenced.

A dual tank precision sprayer to evaluate the interaction of 2,4‐D choline and quizalofop‐p‐ethyl for control of volunteer corn in corn

open access: yesAgricultural &Environmental Letters, Volume 10, Issue 1, June 2025.
Abstract Quizalofop‐p‐ethyl (QPE) can control glufosinate/glyphosate‐resistant corn (Zea mays L.) volunteers in corn resistant to aryloxyphenoxypropionates (Enlist corn). Mixing QPE with broadleaf herbicides such as 2,4‐D choline can be antagonistic. A new precision sprayer with a dual tank/boom system can apply two herbicides simultaneously through ...

Metal‐Organic Frameworks: A Potential Platform From Enzyme Immobilization to Mimetic Enzyme

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 6, Issue 3, March 2025.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), as a kind of porous and controllable nanomaterials with its rich structure and functionality make it a key platform for immobilized enzymes and mimetic enzymes, which have been recognized and applied in different applications, and this cross‐disciplinary combination brings new ideas to the field of catalysis.

Registration of Tx3499–Tx3503 sorghum germplasm resistant to acetyl‐coenzyme A carboxylase‐inhibiting herbicides

open access: yesJournal of Plant Registrations, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/April 2025.
Abstract The sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench ssp. bicolor] germplasm lines Tx3499–Tx3503 (Reg. no. GP‐948–Reg. no. GP‐952, PI 706257–PI 706261) were developed by the Texas A&M AgriLife Research sorghum breeding program in 2024. These lines are resistant to acetyl‐coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase)‐inhibiting herbicides used for post‐emergence control

RNA and protein biomarkers for detecting enhanced metabolic resistance to herbicides mesosulfuron‐methyl and fenoxaprop‐ethyl in black‐grass (Alopecurus myosuroides)

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 80, Issue 6, Page 2539-2551, June 2024.
RNA and protein abundance are indicative biomarkers of enhanced metabolism to fenoxaprop and mesosulfuron herbicides in black‐grass. An improved understanding of the association of RNA and protein biomarkers with enhanced metabolic resistance will help unlock the potential of the future development of herbicide diagnostic assays.

Efficacy and Safening of Aryloxyphenoxypropionate Herbicides when Tank-Mixed with Triclopyr for Bermudagrass Control in Zoysiagrass Turf

open access: yes, 2010
Aryloxyphenoxypropionate (AOPP) herbicides are used to control bermudagrass contamination in various turfgrasses. Applying AOPP herbicides alone can cause unacceptable injury to zoysiagrass but injury can be reduced when tank-mixed with triclopyr.

Distribution, frequency and molecular basis of clethodim and quizalofop resistance in brome grass (Bromus diandrus)

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 80, Issue 3, Page 1523-1532, March 2024.
The resistance‐endowing point mutation at position 2078 causing an aspartate‐to‐glycine substitution delivers resistance to acetyl‐CoA carboxylase herbicide in brome grass. Abstract BACKGROUND Brome grass (Bromus diandrus Roth) is prevalent in the southern and western cropping regions of Australia, where it causes significant economic damage.
