Laser Arytenoidectomy

Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1985
An endoscopic laser arytenoidectomy was performed on 20 patients for bilateral abductor vocal cord paralysis due to various causes. Ten patients had a previous tracheostomy prior to the laser arytenoidectomy and all were subsequently decannulated. One patient without a previous tracheostomy required an immediate tracheostomy after the completion of the

Partial Arytenoidectomy in the Horse

Veterinary Surgery, 1980
Four horses were examined because of inspiratory dyspnea and noise resulting from an inability to abduct one or both arytenoid cartilages. Two unilateral arytenoidectomies were done following failure of laryngoplasty, and two bilateral arytenoidectomies were done to correct permanent arytenoid adduction caused by laryngeal ossification.

Functional Impact of the Arytenoidectomy in SCPL

Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 2011
ObjectiveThe arytenoid is one of the components of sphincteric function of the larynx, and arytenoid resection during supracricoid partial laryngectomy (SCPL) may negatively affect the functional results. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the functional results in patients who underwent unilateral arytenoidectomy during SCPL ...

Partial Arytenoidectomy in the Horse Using an Extralaryngeal Approach

Veterinary Surgery, 1993
An extralaryngeal approach to partial arytenoidectomy in the horse was developed by in vitro experiments on isolated larynges and then on intact equine cadavers. The goals of the approach were to preserve the laryngeal mucosa, eliminate the need for a laryngotomy or tracheotomy, and minimize postoperative complications.

Arytenoidectomy and posterior cordectomy for bilateral abductor paralysis

The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1991

Partial Arytenoidectomy in the Horse with and without Mucosal Closure

Veterinary Surgery, 1988
Left‐sided partial arytenoidectomy was performed in eight horses to evaluate healing. Four horses underwent conventional partial arytenoidectomy with suture apposition of the mucosa. In four horses, most of the arytenoid cartilage, including overlying mucosa, vocal fold, and laryngeal saccule, were excised en bloc without mucosal closure.

Laser Arytenoidectomy for Bilateral Vocal Cord Paralysis

Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 1983
The CO2 surgical laser was found to be a useful tool for the performance of endoscopic arytenoidectomy for bilateral vocal cord paralysis. The dog was found to be a less‐than‐perfect experimental model for human bilateral abductor vocal cord paralysis.

The assistance of coblation in arytenoidectomy for vocal cord paralysis

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 2019
There are many causes for vocal cord paralysis, which can cause difficulty in breathing in serious cases. The common surgical methods for solving vocal cord paralysis include laryngeal splitting or laser surgery, but there are limitations. Arytenoidectomy for Advanced Unilateral Chondropathy with Accompanying Lesions

Veterinary Surgery, 1990
A nonconcurrent prospective study of nonworking horses with arytenoid chondropathy was conducted to confirm a clinical impression that horses with unilateral chondropathy and accompanying lesions had a poorer prognosis after arytenoidectomy than horses with bilateral or uncomplicated unilateral chondropathy.
