Geographic Distribution of Raccoon Roundworm, Baylisascaris procyonis, Germany and Luxembourg
Infestation with Baylisascaris procyonis, a gastrointestinal nematode of the raccoon, can cause fatal disease in humans. We found that the parasite is widespread in central Germany and can pose a public health risk. The spread of B.

Ultrastructure of the excretory‐secretory system inToxocara canis(Nematoda, Ascarididae) infective larvae [PDF]
Abstract The ultrastructure of the excretory‐secretory system of Toxocara canis infective larvae is described. The system is composed of a single uninucleate cell forming two elongate columns that extend throughout the length of the worm up to the anterior portion of the intestine.

We wish to report the occurrence of adult nematodes Ophidascaris arndti (Ascarididae) naturally infecting a new definitive host, the Fonseca's lancehead Bothrops fonsecai (Viperidae), and third-stage larvae of O. arndti parasitizing a new intermediate host, the montane grass mouse Akodon montensis (Cricetidae), both found in the Atlantic Forest of the ...

The study presents an interactive descriptive tool (MONRATE) for calculating and predicting reinfection rates and time of Ascaris lumbricoides following mass chemotherapy. The implementation was based on the theoretical equation published by Hayashi in 1977, for time-prevalence: Y=G [1-(1-X)(N-R)] as modified by Jong-Yil in 1983.

Evaluation in white mice of the infectivity of egs of Lagochilascaris minor (Nematoda: ascarididae), incubated by decortication with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) [PDF]
White mice were used to study the infectivity of the eggs of Lagochilascaris minor Leiper, 1909 after incubation in liquid media, with or without preservative substances. Potassium bichromate (K2Cr2O7) at 1% restrict hatching, while 1% formalin gave a greater larval yield.

Hysterothylacium spp Larvae encysted within the mesenteries, peritoneum, and viscera, which is the perfect place to complete their life cycle. More than 4123 larval stages were isolated from 595 Saurida tumbil and Platycephalus indicus fish. This is a simple fact that these two species are feeding greedily.

Proteomic analysis of Oesophagostomum dentatum (Nematoda) during larval transition, and the effects of hydrolase inhibitors on development [PDF]
In this study, in vitro drug testing was combined with proteomic and bioinformatic analyses to identify and characterize proteins involved in larval development of Oesophagostomum dentatum, an economically important parasitic nematode.
