ABSTRACT Superior vena cava syndrome is caused by obstruction of the superior vena cava leading to impaired drainage of the head, neck, and upper chest. A hot spot sign is a rare but sensitive radiological finding and is described as a focal area of hyper‐enhancement in Segment IVa (quadrate lobe) of the liver.

ABSTRACT Aortic dissection during pregnancy is rare but potentially catastrophic. Acute Type A aortic dissection generally requires urgent surgical repair. When visceral malperfusion is present, however, the optimal sequence of interventions may be complex, particularly when pregnancy and recent cesarean delivery increase operative risk.

Transfemoral Valve-in-Valve Sapien 3 in a Patient with an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm.
The presence of thoracic aortic aneurysms, particularly in the ascending aorta and arch, presents a challenge to transcatheter aortic valve replacement. We present a case of TAVR in the presence of a chronic ascending aortic aneurysm.

High-risk repair of ascending aortic aneurysm due to giant cell aortitis.
Giant cell arteritis increases the risk of developing a thoracic aortic aneurysm. Thoracic aortic aneurysm repair in octogenarians carries a profound increase in postoperative morbidity and mortality.

Effect of the Mitral Valve on the Intra Ventricular Hemodynamics
Patient‐specific Computational Fluid Dynamics was employed to analyze the impact of four distinct mitral valve geometries, varying in area and jet direction, on left‐ventricular flow and overall heart efficiency. The valve design influenced intraventricular vortices, turbulent kinetic energy, and dissipation.

Bicuspid Aortic Valve: An Unusual Cause of Aneurysm of Left Coronary Sinus of Valsalva
Bicuspid aortic valve is traditionally considered an innocuous congenital anomaly. Due to a better and widespread availability of non-invasive imaging techniques, it has come to the fore that 30% of these cases develop complications, viz., valve ...

Giant Aortic Pseudoaneurysm with Stanford Type A Aortic Dissection after Aortic Valve Replacement
Giant pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta is a rare but dreadful complication occurring several months or years after aortic surgery. Thoracic aortic aneurysms tend to be asymptomatic and were previously often diagnosed only after a complication such ...

This review highlights protein lactylation as a metabolic‐epigenetic regulator linking lactate reprogramming to programmed cell death. By modulating histone and non‐histone targets, lactylation reshapes cell fate decisions and represents a promising biomarker and therapeutic target in human diseases.

Ascending aortic aneurysm repair 44 years after Starr–Edwards caged-ball aortic valve replacement
We report a case of ascending aortic aneurysm repair and redo aortic valve replacement with a bioprosthesis 44 years after aortic valve replacement with a Starr–Edwards metal caged-ball prosthesis.
