Clarification of ascites fluid.

An essential first step in the purification of monoclonal antibodies is the clarification of the ascites fluid. While not ignored, this step has not received critical attention. Six different procedures were evaluated with respect to effectiveness and impact on several selected chemical components.

Types of immune complexes in the ascitic fluid of women with carcinoma of the ovary

Immune complexes with Clq-fixing properties and those precipitable by polyethylene glycol (PEG) were detected in ascitic fluid from patients with advanced ovarian cancer. The ascitic fluid from 42 of 58 patients (72%) contained these complexes.

Optical genome mapping improves detection and characterisation of cytogenetic abnormalities in non‐Hodgkin lymphomas

Optical genome mapping (OGM) is feasible on fresh and frozen tissue lymphoma samples and demonstrated its added value for accurate diagnostic classification. OGM surpasses karyotype and FISH in refining diagnoses of lymphoma, identifying class‐defining rearrangements along with prognostic markers.
