Outline of Ascomycota: 2017

Fungal Diversity, 2018
Taxonomic placement of genera have been changing rapidly as taxonomists widely use DNA sequence data in phylogenetic and evolutionary studies. It is essential to update existing databases/outlines based on recent studies, since these sources are widely used as a foundation for other research.

Corticolous species of Trichothelium (Ascomycota: Porinaceae)

Mycological Research, 2004
A survey of corticolous crustose lichen collections in connection with the Flora Neotropica project revealed a number of undescribed species of Trichothelium. While a few typically foliicolous taxa may occasionally be found on bark, five species seem to be exclusively corticolous, all with a Trentepohlia photobiont.

A phylogenomic analysis of the Ascomycota

Fungal Genetics and Biology, 2006
An automated procedure was developed to extract orthologous sequences from fungal genomes and incorporate them into phylogenomic analyses in a timely and efficient manner. This approach involves parsing an all versus all BLASTP search of 17 proteomes and creating a similarity matrix from e-values, which is then used to cluster proteins into related ...

Molecular phylogeny of the Laboulbeniomycetes (Ascomycota)

Fungal Biology, 2018
A first molecular-based phylogeny is presented for the Laboulbeniomycetes, a group of ascomycete fungi that utilize arthropods for nutrition and/or dispersal. Morphological diversification and life-history evolution has made it difficult to resolve relationships within the group, and to identify close relatives.
