Tungsten erosion and redeposition in the all-tungsten divertor of ASDEX Upgrade [PDF]
Net erosion and deposition of tungsten (W) in the ASDEX Upgrade divertor were determined after the 2007 campaign by using thin W marker stripes. ASDEX Upgrade had full-W plasma-facing components during this campaign.

Tungsten redistribution patterns in ASDEX Upgrade
In ASDEX Upgrade tungsten is used as a high-Z plasma facing material. Its erosion, migration and subsequent deposition have been studied by analysis of a set of customised marker tiles, which was installed in the divertor and at the central column for ...

The quasi-continuous exhaust regime in ASDEX Upgrade and JET
The quasi-continuous exhaust (QCE) regime is a type-I ELM-free high confinement regime obtained at high plasma shaping and high separatrix density. A comparison with various ELM-free regimes in the literature is presented together with potential physics ...

SOLPS-ITER modification for impurity transport modelling in the tokamak pedestal region
Kinetic corrections to SOLPS-ITER fluid equations are made to extend their applicability for description of the neoclassical part of impurity transport to collisionless regimes of the main ions.

Modelling of carbon transport in the outer divertor plasma of ASDEX upgrade
Carbon transport in the ASDEX Upgrade outer divertor plasma is investigated in numerical simulations. The SOLPS5.0 code package is used to model the scrape-off layer plasma in a set of repeated lower-single-null L-mode discharges.

Low frequency sawtooth precursor activity in ASDEX Upgrade [PDF]
This paper describes the precursor activity observed in the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak before sawtooth crashes in various neutral beam heated plasmas, utilizing the soft x-ray diagnostic. In addition to the well-known (m, n) = (1,1) internal kink mode and its

Arc behaviour on different materials in ASDEX Upgrade
Arcs, a source of dust particles and a localized erosion mechanism of the plasma-facing components, are found in all major fusion plasma devices. Measurements of arcs require diagnostics with high temporal and local resolution, which are not available at

Electron cyclotron resonance heating in ASDEX upgrade: Calculation and experimental authentication of the power deposition profile [PDF]
In this paper we present global and local studies of the ECRH power deposition in ASDEX Upgrade. It is organized as follows. Section 2 briefly describes ASDEX Upgrade and its ECRH system.
