Asking prices, selling prices, and anchoring effects
International Journal of Wine Business Research, 2015Purpose– Commercial auctions of cultural goods are typically brokerage arrangements where potential buyers may consider pre-sale estimates (PSEs) in bidding. Analysis of Data from the Swedish OMXS 30 index futures market shows clear evidence of futures price asymmetry, where the futures price in general tends to be closer to the bid than to the ask quote.
