ASON Control Link Bandwidth Requirements Analysis
Journal of Optical Communications, 2005It is important to know the control link bandwidth requirements because the control messages should be reliably transported and at the same time the capital expenditure must be saved. The implementation methods of the control link and the composition of the control protocol traffic flow are analyzed.

ASON and GMPLS—Overview and Comparison
Photonic Network Communications, 2004In automatic switched transport networks (ASTN), transport services of different granularity can be set up, modified and released on demand using the mechanisms in the control plane. Currently, this novel provisioning paradigm is being standardized under the umbrella of the automatic switched optical network (ASON) and generalized multiprotocol label ...

Design of provisioning SLA in ASON
China-Ireland International Conference on Information and Communications Technologies (CIICT 2008), 2008This article proposes a scheme of how to provision SLA in ASON. Firstly, at the basis of giving out the birth background of SLA and ASON, it discusses the shortcomings of provisioning SLA in traditional optical network and the technical advantages of provisioning SLA in ASON. Then, design of how to provision SLA in ASON is brought forward.

Multi-domain ASON/GMPLS network operations
2008 International Conference on Photonics in Switching, 2008For ASON/GMPLS multi-domain networks, three routing models, such as per-domain routing, ASON hierarchical routing, and PCE-based routing, have been being standardized. We compare these three routing models in terms of path-computation capabilities, online path-planning capabilities and inter-domain confidentiality.

Advanced ASON prototyping research activities in China
SPIE Proceedings, 2005This paper provides an overview of prototyping research activities of automatically switched optical networks and transport networks (ASONs/ASTNs) in China. In recent years, China has recognized the importance and benefits of the emerging ASON/ASTN techniques. During the period of 2001 and 2002, the national 863 Program of China started the preliminary

Mobile Agent-based Platform for ASON Management
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference and Exhibition, 2009It is essential for us to do research on collaboration mechanism in management-control plane in intelligent optical networks. We propose an interaction schemes using mobile agent between the control plane and management plane to solve information collection delay and management messages congestion. We construct the integrated platform by mobile agent.
