PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Interdigitation between surface-anchored polymer chains and an elastomer : consequences for adhesion promotion

open access: yes, 2004
We study the adhesion between a cross-linked elastomer and a flat solid surface where polymer chains have been end-grafted. To understand the adhesive feature of such a system, one has to study both the origin of the grafted layer interdigitation with ...

Aspect-Targeted Opinion Word Extraction with Aspect Subword Segmentation

open access: yes, 2023
Contemporary advanced models for aspect-targeted opinion word extraction (ATOWE), which predominantly utilize BERT-based encoders at a word level, have shown limited advancements when integrated with graph convolutional networks (GCNs) for syntactic tree assimilation. Recognizing the prowess of BERT subwords in encapsulating rare or context-poor words,

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Electrochemical Aspects of the Reverse Micelle Extraction of Proteins

open access: yesAnalytical Sciences, 2008
The mechanism of the solvent extraction of cytochrome c (Cyt c) via reverse micelle formation was studied from an electrochemical point of view. Potentiometric measurements showed that the Galvani potential difference of the oil/water (O/W) interface played a crucial role in the spontaneous extraction of Cyt c with bis(2-ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate (AOT).
