Simulation of a Reversible SOFC With Aspen Plus

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2017
A thermodynamic Aspen Plus simulation model for a reversible solid oxide fuel cell (RSOFC) is presented and evaluated. It is composed of an electrolysis and a fuel cell module. The latter is based on an existing non reversible SOFC model. The electrolysis model simulates water electrolysis as well as catalytic reactions of inlet gases. The model has

Optimizing a methanol reactor in Aspen Plus

2019 8th International Conference on Modeling Simulation and Applied Optimization (ICMSAO), 2019
Using a Langmuir-Hinshelwood-Hougen-Watson kinetics, an industrial methanol reactor in a GCC-based plant was modeled in Aspen Plus®. The model parameters were adjusted to reduce the error as determined by deviation from thermodynamic equilibrium; the average error in composition was reduced by 88% for methanol.

Process Modeling in Aspen Plus®

2018
In this chapter, the implementation in Aspen Plus® of the CO2 post-combustion capture by reactive absorption-stripping process model is presented. Components and thermodynamics in the Properties Environment are considered in the first place. Then, in the Simulation environment, the set-up of the RadFrac™ model—Rate-Based mode, considered mandatory for ...

Simulating the steam reforming of sunflower meal in Aspen Plus

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2021
Abstract Hydrogen is a clean energy carrier that has the potential to mitigate the environmentally hazardous effects of fossil fuels. Hydrogen is mainly produced through the steam reforming of natural gas however it is also possible to produce hydrogen through the thermochemical conversion of various biomasses.
