The determination of spin‐states by methods like Hirshfeld atom refinement is a promising development in the field of quantum crystallography. To this end, we present x‐ray wavefunction refinement as a next step in this process, identifying the spin and translating it into a physical wavefunction.

Numerical study of simple shear dense granular flow of frictional elongated and flattened particles [PDF]
Non-spherical particles play a crucial role in industrial and geological flows, however, a comprehensive description of their rheology as a function of inertial number and asphericity remains incomplete.

Effects of particle asphericity on the macro- and micro-mechanical behaviors of granular assemblies
Particle shape has been regarded as a key factor affecting mechanical behaviors of granular assemblies. The present work proposes a shape descriptor, i.e., asphericity, to isolate the effect of aspect ratio and angularity.

Acoustic‐driven surface cleaning with millimeter‐sized bubbles at translational resonance
Time‐lapse visualization comparing bubble trajectories. The top panel (0 Hz) shows a bubble's linear path under no acoustic forcing, while the bottom panel (50 Hz) demonstrates the oscillatory motion induced by acoustic waves at a resonance mode. This mechanism holds promising potential for applications such as surface cleaning.

Aspherical lens design and imaging [PDF]
We design freeform lenses refracting an arbitrarily given incident field into a given fixed direction. In the near field case, we study the existence of lenses refracting a given bright object into a predefined image. We also analyze the existence of systems of mirrors that solve the near field and the far field problems for reflection.

Kinetic Study on the Reaction of Phenylperoxy Radicals With Nitric Oxide
ABSTRACT Cavity ring‐down spectroscopy (CRDS) and quantum cascade laser absorption spectroscopy (QCLAS), in conjunction with pulsed laser photolysis, were employed to investigate the reaction between phenylperoxy radicals (C6H5O2) and nitric oxide (NO) at a temperature of 296 ± 4 K. The experiment was carried out under N2 as bath gas.

Controlling the Center of Mass Motion of Levitated Particles Using Structured Wavefronts
Optically levitated particles have great potential for quantum‐enhanced sensing. Precise control of the trapping beam is crucial to improve the stability and confinement of these systems. Here, we study how structured wavefronts can be used to control the center‐of‐mass motion of levitated particles, enhancing trap stiffness and enabling stable ...

Asphericity of length six relative group presentations [PDF]
Combinatorial group theory is a part of group theory that deals with groups given by presentations in terms of generators and defining relations. Many techniques both algebraic and geometric are used in dealing with problems in this area. In this thesis,

A Modified Magnetic Gradient Contraction Based Method for Ferromagnetic Target Localization
The Scalar Triangulation and Ranging (STAR) method, which is based upon the unique properties of magnetic gradient contraction, is a high real-time ferromagnetic target localization method. Only one measurement point is required in the STAR method and it
