CPX‐351 in High‐Risk Relapsed Pediatric Acute Leukemia: Real‐World Phase 1 Data Establishing the FDA‐Approved Dose

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Outcomes for pediatric relapsed/refractory (R/R) acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remain dismal. CPX‐351, a liposomal formulation of cytarabine and daunorubicin, may have less off‐target toxicities than traditional chemotherapies and has shown improved outcomes for adults with newly diagnosed therapy‐related AML.

Design and application of a convenient suction device for postoperative ICU patients (一种方便ICU患者术后使用的吸食器的设计与应用)

open access: yes中西医结合护理
Early Oral Feeding (EOF) is a key measure in postoperative enhanced recovery, as it helps maintain intestinal barrier, reduce risk of infection, and shortens length of hospital stay.

The role of clinical models in understanding the etiology of pneumonia

open access: yesМедицина неотложных состояний, 2022
The etiology of pneumonia has changed since the beginning of the antibiotic era. Clinical and etiological classifications and protocols recommend immediate empiric antibiotic treatment after diagnosing. However, recommendations for antibiotic treatment,

Acromioclavicular joint cyst in ASA 3-4 patients. Whether and how quickly it recurs after aspiration and steroid injection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We observed the clinical course, in the short-medium term, of patients with voluminous type II acromio-clavicular (AC) joint cyst who underwent aspiration and steroid injection regarded as the only possible treatment to avoid possible skin complications.

The effects of exogenous lipid on THP-1 cells : an in vitro model of airway aspiration? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Chronic inflammatory diseases of the airways are associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux (GOR) and aspiration events. The observation of lipid laden macrophages (LLM) within the airway may indicate aspiration secondary to GOR.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Biomechanical mechanism of reduced aspiration by the Passy-Muir valve in tracheostomized patients following acquired brain injury: Evidences from subglottic pressure

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2022
ObjectiveAspiration is a common complication after tracheostomy in patients with acquired brain injury (ABI), resulting from impaired swallowing function, and which may lead to aspiration pneumonia.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Sudden endotracheal tube block in a patient of Achalasia Cardia

open access: yesJournal of Anaesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology, 2012
Endotracheal tube block due to various mechanical causes such as mucous, blood clot, denture, and ampoules have been reported. A patient of achalasia cardia with chronic passive aspiration pneumonitis developed mucoid mass in the respiratory passage ...

Active Membrane Fluctuations Studied by Micropipet Aspiration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We present a detailed analysis of the micropipet experiments recently reported in J-B. Manneville et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 82, 4356--4359 (1999), including a derivation of the expected behaviour of the membrane tension as a function of the areal strain ...
