Association of sex and aspirin use with postoperative bleeding in patients with lower extremity long bone fractures

open access: yesTrauma Surgery & Acute Care Open
Objective The perioperative management of patients on antiplatelet drugs is a rising challenge in orthopedic trauma because antiplatelet drugs are frequently encountered and carry an increased risk of hemorrhagic consequences.

Aspirin use correlates with survival in women with clear cell ovarian cancer

open access: yesGynecologic Oncology Reports, 2018
Data from colon, breast and prostate cancers suggest that aspirin users have reduced mortality. While the direct mechanism remains uncertain, aspirin can suppress the COX-dependent and independent pathways involved in tumor progression.

Simvastatin Restores Uteroplacental Hemodynamics and Trophoblast Function in Obstetric Antiphospholipid Syndrome in a Placenta‐on‐a‐Chip Model

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Simvastatin mitigates placental hypoperfusion in OAPS by ameliorating abnormal uteromaternal hemodynamics and enhancing trophoblast invasion via optimized endothelial cell interactions under pathological shear stress, as evidenced by results from a placenta‐on‐a‐chip platform.

Biomimetic Copper‐Doped Nano‐Aluminum Adjuvant Potentiates Therapy in Chemoresistant Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a novel copper‐doped aluminum nano‐adjuvant (CuNA) to overcome cytarabine resistance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). CuNA effectively sensitizes drug‐resistant AML cells to cytarabine by inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and inhibiting HMGCR/GPX4 to amplify ferroptosis.

Prevalence and Risk Factors for Aspirin Resistance in Elderly Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gerontology, 2011
Background: Aspirin resistance in patients with diabetes is recognized. However, the prevalence and related risk factors for aspirin resistance in elderly patients with Type 2 diabetes have not been reported, which is why we undertook this study. Methods:

Biofabrication of Endothelialized, Intrinsically Vascularized 3D‐Printed Recombinant Spider Silk Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study evaluates 3D‐printed recombinant spider silk hydrogel eADF4(C16)‐RGD in a rat AV loop model for tissue engineering. Constructs with T17b endothelial progenitor cells showed enhanced vascularization and biodegradation. Results highlight the importance of scaffold design and cellular integration in improving vascular density and overall ...
