Programmed compliance for error corrective assembly
IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, 1990The following problem is addressed. Suppose that before an assembly task commences, one can specify at will the manipulator's response to assembly forces by providing a single compliance (or damping) matrix to be used for the duration of the operation.

Assembly error propagation modeling and coordination error chain construction for aircraft
Assembly Automation, 2019Purpose Manufacturing errors, which will propagate along the assembly process, are inevitable and difficult to analyze for complex products, such as aircraft. To realize the goal of precise assembly for an aircraft, with revealing the nonlinear transfer mechanism of assembly error, a set of analytical methods with ...

Error Free Self-assembly Using Error Prone Tiles
DNA self-assembly is emerging as a key paradigm for nano-technology, nano-computation, and several related disciplines. In nature, DNA self-assembly is often equipped with explicit mechanisms for both error prevention and error correction. For artificial self-assembly, these problems are even more important since we are interested in assembling large ...

Assembly FMEA: A Simplified Method for Identifying Assembly Errors
Design Engineering, Volumes 1 and 2, 2003Manual assembly errors are a significant source of manufacturing defects. Therefore, an efficient method is needed to identify and alleviate potential assembly defects. Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (Process FMEA) is one technique used to anticipate, evaluate, and resolve potential manufacturing and assembly issues.

The errors in assembly of MuLV in interferon treated cells
Journal of Supramolecular Structure, 1979AbstractInterferon treatment of JLSV‐6 cells chronically infected with Rauscher MuLV leads to the formation of noninfectious particles (interferon virions) containing the structural proteins of env and gag genes as well as additional viral polypeptides.

The application of a dynamic error framework to robotic assembly
Proceedings., IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2002The dynamic error recovery vector framework developed by P.M. Taylor and G.E. Taylor (IEEE Proc. Int. Conf. Robotics and Automation, p.1096-100, 1985) is summarized and extended. Various operators are defined for upper-bound, lower-bound, and best-guess estimates for sensor signals given a priori estimates of error causes or effects.

Knowledge based error recovery in robotized assembly
Proceedings IROS '91:IEEE/RSJ International Workshop on Intelligent Robots and Systems '91, 2002Presents a framework of an online knowledge based error recovery system for robotized assembly, which deals with problems of execution monitoring, sensor processing, failure diagnosis and recovery. The system is of modular and hierarchical structure. Techniques have been integrated into each functional module.

Controlling errors in the process of molecular self-assembly
2009 47th Annual Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing (Allerton), 2009The problem of controlling errors in the process of molecular self-assembly is of central importance in biomolecular computation. The stochastic nature of the self-assembly process leads to assembly errors, i.e., deviations from ideal growth of the assembly.

Error measurement and assemble error correction of a 3D-step-gauge
Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering in China, 2007A new artifact called 3D-step-gauge consisting of a pyramid array and a compound, is proposed to calculate geometrical errors for machine tools. Only one point on each profile of the pyramid in the array is probed, and its center coordinate can be calculated.
