Crystal Structure Prediction of Inorganic Materials: A Benchmark and Modern Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Predicting a crystal’s structure from composition alone is a long‐standing challenge in materials discovery. The CSP180 benchmark of 180 inorganic crystals evaluates thirteen crystal structure prediction algorithms requiring no density functional theory (DFT) against DFT‐based baselines across twelve metrics.

Extending Battery Usage Time of a Heavy‐Duty Mecanum‐Wheeled Autonomous Electric Vehicle Used in Iron–Steel Industry by Considering Wheel Slippage

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
It is a fact that slippage causes tracking errors in both longitudinal and lateral directions which results to have less travel distance in tracking a reference trajectory. Less travel distance means having energy loss of the battery and carrying loads less than planned.

The Inflation Hedging Characteristics of US and UK Investments:  A Multi-Factor Error Correction Approach [PDF]

open access: yes
Historic analysis of the inflation hedging properties of stocks produced anomalous results, with equities often appearing to offer a perverse hedge against inflation.

Design and Characterization of a Dual‐Mode Soft Robotic Flapping Propeller With Pneumatic Stiffness Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A novel soft robotic propeller overcomes traditional efficiency‐flexibility tradeoffs via a hybrid pneumatic‐cable actuation strategy. This architecture enables active stiffness modulation with dual‐mode locomotion: tunable biomimetic swimming and earthworm‐inspired wriggling for confined spaces.

Asset Price Instability and Policy Responses: The Legacy of Liberalisation [PDF]

open access: yes
The debate about the dynamics and potential policy responses to asset inflation has intensified in recent years. Some analysts, notably Borio and Lowe, have called for 'subtle' changes to existing monetary targeting frameworks to try to deal with the ...

Motion and Morphology Planning for Autonomous Manipulation in Clutter With a Shape‐Shifting, Variable‐Stiffness Robot

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A hybrid mobile robot with a modular Variable‐Stiffness Bridge transitions between a rigid locomotion platform and a flexible, shape‐conforming body. By enclosing objects within its deformable structure rather than relying on dedicated end effectors, the robot achieves orientation‐regulated planar transport, with conformal contact quality shown to ...

Measuring market and inflation risk premia in France and in Germany [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies the role of inflation in the determination of financial asset prices. We estimate an Intertemporal Capital Asset Pricing Model à la Merton (1973), with inflation as an independent source of risk, for France and Germany.
