Fluidization Assistance Techniques

2013
Cohesive aggregation in fine powders usually hinders nonbubbling fluid-like fluidization. Different techniques have been developed in the last few years to assist fluidization by helping the gas flow to mobilize and break cohesive aggregates, which serves to turn the Geldart C cohesive fluidization behavior into fluid-like fluidization.

Fuzzy model for fluidized bed assisted drag finishing

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
In the present studya model was developed to predict the material removal during fluidized bed drag finishing, an innovative process very effective in terms of achievable quality of the processed parts and reduced processing time. The effect of the inherent uncertainties on the predicted material removal caused by the approximation in the model ...

A novel internal assistance method for enhanced fluidization of nanoparticles

Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2019
Hydrophilic (polar-P) and hydrophobic (apolar-A) SiO2 nanoparticles were used as assistant materials to improve the fluidizability of Al2O3 and TiO2 nanopowders, which are hard to fluidize normally. To decrease the strong electrostatic forces, binary mixtures prepared with SiO2(P) were fluidized in the presence of suitable alcohol vapors.

SOUND ASSISTED FLUIDIZED BED COMBUSTION

2002
The combustion and/or gasification of solid fossil fuels in fluidized beds may be considered a technology already mature (Abdulally I. F. and Reed K., 1995). However its extension to the case of not conventional fuels: Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), Tyre Derived Fuel (TDF), biomass and industrial or civic residues, is the challenge to the operators of the ...

Flow Characteristics in a Jetting Fluidized Bed with Acoustic Assistance

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2010
A jetting fluidized bed with acoustic assistance was employed to investigate the jet penetration depth and particle concentration profiles using an optical fiber probe. One type of FCC and two types of quartz sand particles were used as bed materials in this study.

Agglomerate size in an acoustic fluidized bed with sound assistance

Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process Intensification, 2007
Three types of SiO2 ultrafine particles were used to investigate the fluidization behavior in a fluidized bed with sound excitation. It has been shown that agglomerate size tends to reduce with an increase in sound pressure level. At a given sound pressure level, there exists a critical sound frequency (fc).

Enhanced fluidization of nanoparticles with gas phase pulsation assistance

Powder Technology, 2015
Abstract An experimental study of pulsed fluidization of nanoparticles is presented. The study includes measurements of bed pressure drop and bed expansion, together with visual observations. The technique of gas-phase pulsation was observed to be effective in overcoming plug formation and channelling.

Solar Energy Assisted Fluidized-Bed Dryer

1987
Natural sun drying is a wide-spread technology practised since the early times of mankind. However this process presents several problems such as infestation by insects and long periods of drying. To avoid such problems, different artificial drying methods have been developed.
