Exploiting Genome Structure in Association Analysis [PDF]
A genome-wide association study involves examining a large number of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) to identify SNPs that are significantly associated with the given phenotype, while trying to reduce the false positive rate. Although haplotype-based association methods have been proposed to accommodate correlation information across nearby SNPs

ABSTRACT Rates of cancer among adolescents and young adults (AYA), age 15–39 years, are increasing. Consequently, radiation oncologists are treating more AYAs who have diagnoses spanning both pediatric and adult practices. Pathway analysis following association study [PDF]
Genome-wide association studies often emphasize single-nucleotide polymorphisms with the smallest p-values with less attention given to single-nucleotide polymorphisms not ranked near the top. We suggest that gene pathways contain valuable information that can enable identification of additional associations.

ABSTRACT Background Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT) is an essential therapy for several malignant and nonmalignant diseases, but relapse and graft loss remain the principal threats to its success. Routine monitoring of chimerism and minimal residual disease (MRD) enables early detection of imminent recurrence and guides ...

Phylogenetic Analysis of Trophic Associations
Ecologists frequently collect data on the patterns of association between adjacent trophic levels in the form of binary or quantitative food webs. Here, we develop statistical methods to estimate the roles of consumer and resource phylogenies in explaining patterns of consumer-resource association.
