Learning Query Expansion from Association Rules Between Terms
Query expansion technique offers an interesting solution for obtaining a complete answer to a user query while preserving the quality of retained documents. This mainly relies on an accurate choice of the added terms to an initial query. In this paper, we attempt to use data mining methods to extract dependencies between terms, namely a generic basis ...

Why human connection is the true metric of research success
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Learning dispatching rules via an association rule mining approach
This thesis proposes a new idea using association rule mining-based approach for discovering dispatching rules in production data. Decision trees have previously been used for the same purpose of finding dispatching rules. However, the nature of the decision tree as a classification method may cause incomplete discovery of dispatching rules, which can ...

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.
