Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Representation theory of association schemes
This thesis is motivated by the algebraic treatment given to association schemes and its natural occurrence in the theory of finite permutation groups. The present work deals with the representation theory of association schemes, which is the study of ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Four-class skew-symmetric association schemes
An association scheme is called skew-symmetric if it has no symmetric adjacency relations other than the diagonal one. In this paper, we investigate 4-class skew-symmetric association schemes.

Suprema and infima of association schemes
Let \(F\) be a partition of a finite set \(\Omega\). In the vector space \(\mathbb{R}^\Omega\) of all real-valued functions on \(\Omega\), denote by \(F_i\) the characteristic function of the \(i\)th class of \(F\). Then the vectors \(F_i\) form a basis for the subspace \(V_F\) consisting of all real functions which are constant on each class of \(F\).

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

CRESTED PRODUCTS OF ASSOCIATION SCHEMES
In this paper, we define a new type of product of association schemes (and of the related objects, permutation groups and orthogonal block structures), which generalizes the direct and wreath products (which are referred to as “crossing ” and “nesting ...

Character products of association schemes
Let \(X\) be a finite set, and \(G\subset X\times X\) an association scheme. For any \(g\in G\) we denote the adjacency matrix of \(g\) by \(\sigma_g\). Let \(\mathbb{C} G=\bigoplus_{g\in G}\mathbb{C}\sigma_g\) -- this is called the adjacency algebra of \(G\) (over \(\mathbb{C}\)).

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
