On morphisms of association schemes

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we present a necessary and sufficient condition under which a (combinatorial) morphism between association schemes induces an algebra homomorphism between their scheme rings.

On the Nomura algebras of formally self-dual association schemes of class 2 [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions on Combinatorics, 2013
‎‎In this paper‎, ‎the type-II matrices on (negative) Latin square graphs are considered and it is proved that‎, ‎under certain conditions‎, ‎the Nomura algebras of such type-II matrices are trivial‎.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Treebank annotation schemes and parser evaluation for German [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Recent studies focussed on the question whether less-congurational languages like German are harder to parse than English, or whether the lower parsing scores are an artefact of treebank encoding schemes and data structures, as claimed by K¨ubler et al.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

From hospital contributory schemes to health cash plans: mutualism in health care in the post-war period. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The article traces the post-war history of the British hospital contributory schemes, which had developed during the inter-war years to the point where, through the accumulation of small weekly contributions from a mass membership, they provided ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Community-based health insurance knowledge, concern, preferences, and financial planning for health care among informal sector workers in a health district of Douala, Cameroon

open access: yesThe Pan African Medical Journal, 2013
INTRODUCTION: For the last two decades, promoted by many governments and international organizations, community-based health insurance (CBHI) schemes have been growing in number in sub-Saharan Africa.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Euclidean association schemes

open access: yes, 2023
Thesis (Ph. D.)--University of Rochester. Department of Mathematics, 2022By studying a particular family of association schemes we connect the the theory of association schemes to the Kloosterman numbers which have a plethora of applications in number ...
