The Far-Infrared Surveyor (FIS) for AKARI
The Far-Infrared Surveyor (FIS) is one of two focal plane instruments on the AKARI satellite. FIS has four photometric bands at 65, 90, 140, and 160 um, and uses two kinds of array detectors.

Liquid Metal Nanotransformers for Drug‐Resistant Pan‐Cancer Therapy in Patient‐Derived Organoids
Pan‐cancer therapies are severely limited in drug‐resistance patients due to genetic mutations and other factors, resulting in poor therapeutic outcomes and constrained clinical benefit. Liquid metal nanotransformers, a new class of shape‐transformable nanomaterials capable of dramatic morphological changes, offer a promising physical strategy to ...

Heat Exchange Between Electrons and Phonons in Nanosystems at Sub-Kelvin Temperatures
Ultra-sensitive nanoscopic detectors for electromagnetic radiation consist of thin metallic films deposited on dielectric membranes. The metallic films, of thickness d of the order of 10 nm, form the thermal sensing element (TSE), which absorbs the ...

Lifshitz Transition in Correlated Topological Semimetals
Theoretical calculations reveal that in YPtBi and GdPtBi, strong electronic correlations shift topological Dirac nodes away from the Fermi level by forming large hole pockets. This effect is sensitive to temperature and arises from interactions among 4d or 4f electrons, offering insights into Fermi surface engineering in quantum materials.
