New techniques in astronomical multi-slit spectroscopy [PDF]
LDSS-2 is a low dispersion survey spectrograph for the William Herschel Telescope. It was constructed to meet an increasing demand for large scale statistical surveys of stellar and galactic populations. This thesis describes its design, construction and

Imaging Electric Polarization Switching in Multilayer Graphene
Domain wall sliding‐induced electric polarization switching is directly observed for the first time in multilayer graphene, enabled by a novel optical readout method. The polarization switching is realized upon application of global and local electric fields, and mechanical forces between neighboring polar domains of opposite out‐of‐plane polarizations

Janus kinase 2 inhibition by pacritinib as potential therapeutic target for liver fibrosis
Diagram of the activation of the profibrotic and procontractile Janus kinase 2 (JAK2)/Ras homolog family member A/Rho‐kinase pathway and the inhibition of phosphorylated JAK2 by pacritinib to inhibit hepatic stellate cell activity. Abstract Background and Aims Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) signaling is increased in human and experimental liver fibrosis with ...

Ag Nanowire‐Integrated MoS2/ZnO Heterojunctions for Highly Efficient Photogenerated Charge Transfer
A versatile strategy is reported for fabricating multi‐dimensional heterojunctions with significantly improved charge transfer capability. By integrating Ag nanowires with a MoS2/ZnO heterojunction, a fourfold increase in surface photovoltage is achieved, reaching 200 mV under visible light illumination.

The Sloan Digital Sky Survey Quasar Lens Search. V. Final catalog from the seventh data release
We present the final statistical sample of lensed quasars from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Quasar Lens Search (SQLS). The well-defined statistical lens sample consists of 26 lensed quasars brighter than i = 19.1 and in the redshift range of 0.6 <

Our work bridges the gap between skyrmion discovery and material design by demonstrating how atomic‐scale control of exchange interactions enables tunable skyrmion phase transitions in centrosymmetric magnetic metals. ABSTRACT Magnetic skyrmions are topologically protected spin states that hold promise for shaping the future of electronics.
