Unveiling the unconventional optical signatures of regular black holes within accretion disk

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
The optical characteristics of three types of black holes (BHs) surrounded by a thin accretion disk are discussed, namely the Schwarzschild BH, Bardeen BH, and Hayward BH. We calculate the deflection angle of light as it traverses the vicinity of each BH

Investigating Effects of Solar Proton Events and Forbush Decreases on Ground‐Level Potential Gradient Recorded at Middle and Low Latitudes and Different Altitudes

open access: yesSpace Weather, 2022
High‐energetic charged particles, such as solar protons, and phenomena such as Forbush decreases are eligible candidates to affect the global electric circuit.

Measuring Global Signals in the Potential Gradient at High Latitude Sites

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2021
Previous research has shown that the study of the global electrical circuit can be relevant to climate change studies, and this can be done through measurements of the potential gradient near the surface in fair weather conditions.

Poynting Fluxes, Field‐Aligned Current Densities, and the Efficiency of the Io‐Jupiter Electrodynamic Interaction

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2023
Juno's highly inclined orbits provide opportunities to sample high‐latitude magnetic field lines connected to the orbit of Io, among the other Galilean satellites.

Reassessing the organic carbon budget in the Murchison meteorite through an extraction–recovery mass‐balance approach

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract A substantial fraction of organic carbon in carbonaceous chondrites has long been described as “missing,” reflecting incomplete recovery and limited resolution of operationally defined organic components. Here, we present a quantitative reassessment of the carbon budget in the Murchison meteorite using an integrated extraction–recovery mass ...

Visible, near‐, and thermal infrared spectra of asteroid Bennu samples: Relationship to and implications for remote sensing of carbonaceous asteroids

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Remote spectroscopy is used to characterize the mineralogy and infer the history of planetary bodies. Carbonaceous asteroids, such as B‐type (101955) Bennu, represent the earliest stages of planet formation. B types have a blue (negative) spectral slope and comprise <5% of asteroids.

Unraveling the Thermodynamic Enigma between Fast and Slow Coronal Mass Ejections

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are the most energetic expulsions of magnetized plasma from the Sun that play a crucial role in space weather dynamics.
