Broadband Reflective Terahertz Quarter‐Wave Metasurface Enabled by Two‐Photon Polymerization 3D‐Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
A compact reflective terahertz quarter‐wave metasurface fabricated via 2PP‐3D printing method is experimentally demonstrated near 1 THz frequency. Broadband linear‐to‐circular polarization conversion is achieved over 0.75–1.30 THz (∼54% fractional bandwidth), with axial ratio below 3 dB and ellipticity approaching −1.

Memristive Physical Reservoir Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 33, 15 June 2026.
Memristors’ nonlinear dynamics and input‐dependent memory effects make them ideal candidates for high‐performance physical reservoir computing (RC). Based on their conductance modulation, memristors can be classified as electronic or optoelectronic types.

Synthesis and Characterization of Highly Conductive Cobalt Phthalocyanine‐Based Metal–Organic Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 12, Issue 12, 22 June 2026.
A two‐dimensional (2D) layered material, CoPc‐MOF, with a cobalt phthalocyanine backbone as its structural unit, was successfully synthesized. CoPc‐MOF adopts a crystal structure analogous to a Lieb lattice, which is a type of Dirac material. CoPc‐MOF exhibits exceptionally high electrical conductivity for an organic semiconductor, which likely ...

Early evolutionary history of the seed

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 101, Issue 3, Page 1511-1553, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The seed is an essential stage in the life history of gymnospermous and angiospermous plants, facilitating both their survival and dispersal. We reappraise knowledge of the evolutionary history of the gymnospermous seed, from its origin in the late Devonian through to the well‐known end‐Permian extinctions – an interval encompassing the ...

Expanding the Toolbox: Mangrove Use by Spotted Eagle Rays (Aetobatus ocellatus) in the Maldives Revealed Through Drone‐Based Observation

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study reports the first scientific record of the spotted eagle ray Aetobatus ocellatus within a mangrove embayment in the Republic of the Maldives, documented through drone‐based observations. We observed four individuals, including one juvenile, that we recorded using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), highlighting mangrove habitats as potential ...
