Maser radiation from collisionless shocks: application to astrophysical jets [PDF]
This paper describes a model of electron energization and cyclotron-maser emission applicable to astrophysical magnetized collisionless shocks. It is motivated by the work of Begelman, Ergun and Rees [Astrophys. J. 625, 51 (2005)] who argued that the cyclotron-maser instability occurs in localized magnetized collisionless shocks such as those expected ...

Abstract On 15 September 2021, Chandra carried out a 40‐hr (∼4 jovian rotations) observation as part of its longest planetary campaign to study the drivers of jovian X‐ray aurora that may be linked to ultra‐low frequency (ULF) wave activity. During this time, Juno's orbit had taken the spacecraft into Jupiter's dusk magnetosphere.

Stimulated Raman scattering of water maser lines in astrophysical plasmas [PDF]
Radiative transfer equations are derived and solved for the stimulated Raman scattering of water maser lines in the astrophysical plasmas with electron density of about 10^6 - 10^7 cm-3.

We present High Sensitivity Array observations of the H _2 O megamasers of NGC 1068. We obtain absolute astrometry with 0.3 mas precision that confirms the association of the disk masers with the nuclear radio continuum source S1.

A Review of Maser Polarization and Magnetic Fields [PDF]
Through polarization observations masers are unique probes of the magnetic field in a variety of different astronomical objects, with the different maser species tracing different physical conditions.

Evolution of the Outflow in the Water Fountain Source IRAS 18043–2116
We present the spectral and spatial evolution of H _2 O masers associated with the water fountain source IRAS 18043−2116, found in observations with the Nobeyama 45 m Telescope and the Australia Telescope Compact Array. We have found new highest-velocity

RadioAstron probes the ultra-fine spatial structure in the H$_2$O maser emission in the star forming region W49N [PDF]
H$_2$O maser emission associated with the massive star formation region W49N were observed with the Space-VLBI mission RadioAstron. The procedure for processing of the maser spectral line data obtained in the RadioAstron observations is described.

Detection of a High-velocity Jet from MWC 349A Traced by Hydrogen Recombination Line Maser Emission
MWC 349A is one of the rare stars known to have hydrogen radio recombination line (RRL) masers. The bright maser emission makes it possible to study the dynamics of the system at milliarcsecond (mas) precision.

Constraints on OH Megamaser Excitation from a Survey of OH Satellite Lines [PDF]
We report the results of a full-Stokes survey of all four 18 cm OH lines in 77 OH megamasers (OHMs) using the Arecibo Observatory. This is the first survey of OHMs that included observations of the OH satellite lines; only 4 of the 77 OHMs have existing ...
