A Cross Connected Asymmetrical Switched-Capacitor Multilevel Inverter [PDF]
A Switched-Capacitor Multilevel Inverter (SCMLI) topology is proposed here, which can generate up to fifteen levels with one unit and can be extended further for getting higher levels. The proposed SCMLI has a lesser number of switching devices with respect to other recently proposed structures presented in this paper.

A novel active power decoupling converter (APDC) applied in power factor correction (PFC) converter is proposed, which overcomes the problem that the DC‐link voltage ripple of small capacitor PFC converters depend heavily on the consistency of capacitors.

Three-Phase Trinary Asymmetric Multilevel Inverter With Single DC Source and Open-Loop Control
A three-phase trinary-asymmetric cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter topology with single dc source per phase is presented in this paper. Only one of the H-bridges (called Main bridge) is fed from a dc source and all others (called auxiliary bridges ...

Mechanisms and Designs of Asymmetrical Electrochemical Capacitors [PDF]
© 2017 Elsevier Ltd Different charge storage mechanisms in electrochemical energy storage devices are reviewed, including non-Faradaic capacitive, Faradaic capacitive, Faradaic non-capacitive, and their combinations. Specifically, Faradaic capacitive (pseudocapacitive) storage and Faradaic non-capacitive (Nernstian) storage are attributed to the ...

An Asymmetric Switched Capacitor Multilevel Inverter With Component Reduction [PDF]
This paper proposes a new switched capacitor (SC-Type) inverter for asymmetrical multilevel inverters (MLIs) with fewer components. In order to balance the voltages of the capacitors, the proposed topology uses a special method to charge/discharge the capacitors.

A Control Strategy for Cascaded H-Bridge Based STATCOM with Unequal Capacitive DC Links Based on Model Predictive Method [PDF]
Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) is a shunt grid connected converter used for reactive power/current compensation in electrical networks. Owing to its advantages, cascaded H-bridge inverter with unequal capacitive dc links is utilized in STATCOM ...

General hybrid asymmetric capacitor model: Validation with a commercial lithium ion capacitor
Modelling and numerical simulations play a vital role in the design and optimization of electrochemical energy storage devices. In this study, a general physics-based model is developed to describe Hybrid Asymmetric Capacitors (HACs). A one-dimensional cell is constructed with one faradaic electrode, a separator and a capacitive electrode. The model is

Radiation-induced separation and accumulation of electric charge in supercapacitors [PDF]
In current sources with a radioactive isotope (CSRI), nuclear energy is directly converted into electricity due to the separation of electric charges during the decay of radioactive isotopes. It was previously shown that asymmetric supercapacitors can be
