AC/Se composite cathode for asymmetric Li-ion capacitors

Materials Today Energy, 2020
Abstract The asymmetric capacitors are one of the energy storage systems that provide high energy density and high power density. However, there are some limitations which impede the development of asymmetric capacitors. In this context, we designed a new type of lithium-selenium asymmetric capacitor (LSEC) that has both the capacitive effect and ...

Cu-doped NiO for aqueous asymmetric electrochemical capacitors

Ceramics International, 2014
Abstract In this work, the influence of Cu doping on the electrochemical properties of NiO was investigated regarding its performance as electrodes in aqueous supercapacitors. NiO and Ni1−xCuxO (x=0.5–3%) cathode materials were synthesized via a citrate-gel process.

Asymmetric electronic deformation in graphene molecular capacitors

International Journal of Quantum Chemistry
AbstractAsymmetric deformation density analysis is applied on bilayer graphene flakes as molecular capacitors to identify the extent of asymmetric distribution of electrons and holes when exposed to bias voltage. Three triangular, orthorhombic, and hexagonal symmetries for graphene flakes are considered in two sizes and electric field potential is ...

Electrochemical capacitance of NiO/Ru0.35V0.65O2 asymmetric electrochemical capacitor

Journal of Power Sources, 2007
Abstract A designed asymmetric hybrid electrochemical capacitor was presented where NiO and Ru0.35V0.65O2 as the positive and negative electrode, respectively, both stored charge through reversible faradic pseudocapacitive reactions of the anions (OH−) with electroactive materials.

A Novel Boost Fifteen-Level Asymmetrical Flying-Capacitor Inverter with Natural Balancing of Capacitor Voltages

2021 12th Power Electronics, Drive Systems, and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC), 2021
In this article, a novel Boost Fifteen-level Flying-Capacitor (BFFC) inverter is suggested. The proposed inverter employs eleven switches, four diodes, two capacitors, and three voltage sources to generate a boosted output voltage. The boosting characteristic of the proposed inverter is obtained by using the capacitors serried to the input voltage ...

Asymmetric Conduction and Stability of Polymer Tantalum Capacitors

ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, 2015
Conduction asymmetry and DC leakage (DCL) current variations with time were investigated in Polymer Hermetically Sealed (PHS) Ta capacitors. The hermetic design facilitates the control of the atmosphere inside these Ta capacitors, in particular the amount of moisture, and maintains it during long-term testing.

A New Asymmetric Switched-Capacitor Inverter for Photovoltaic Systems

2020 IEEE 9th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC2020-ECCE Asia), 2020
This paper presents a new switched-capacitor multi-level inverter (SCMLI) for photovoltaic systems which can eliminate the leakage current. The traditional SCMLI suffer from the H-Bridge to obtain negative levels, which create variable common mode voltage (CMV) and so generates the leakage current.

Bifunctional Activated Carbon-Lithium Ceramic for Hybrid Asymmetric Capacitor

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2018
The industrial world needs energy storage devices rather than lithium batteries or double-layer electrochemical capacitors with a specific power and energy density. One of the challenges is to build a durable and safe hybrid supercapacitor with high energy density and specific power and long life.
