Al double core electron excitation in asymmetric collisions
Surface Science, 1991Abstract We report a detailed Auger study on the double 2p electron excitation in Al by bombarding polycrystalline Al with 5–15 keV noble gas ions (Ne+, Ar+, Kr+, and Xe+) and MgxAl1 − x alloys (x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75) with Ar+ ions. Fo resolved spectra show three well distinct narrow atomic L2-Auger peaks at ~ 76, ~ 82, and ~ 85.5 eV which ...

13th Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise: Machinery Dynamics and Element Vibrations, 1991
Abstract A perturbation method is developed to predict stability of parametrically excited dynamic systems containing multiple perturbation parameters. This method, based on the Floquet theorem and the method of successive approximations, results in a nonlinear matrix eigenvalue problem whose eigenvalues are used to predict the system ...

Excitation and relaxation of the asymmetric stretch mode of CO2 in a pulsed glow discharge
Plasma Sources Science & Technology, 2019The excitation and relaxation of the vibrations of CO2 as well as the reduction of CO2 to CO are studied in a pulsed glow discharge. Two diagnostics are employed: (1) time-resolved in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and (2) spatiotemporally ...

Asymmetric Photoinduced Excited-State Nazarov Reaction
Journal of the American Chemical SocietyWe report herein the first asymmetric photoinduced excited-state Nazarov reaction of non-aromatic dicyclic divinyl ketones by using hydrogen-bonding catalysis. The enantioselectivity of photoinduced electrocyclization is highly dependent on the structural features of the substrate and its interaction with chiral catalysts.

Terahertz wave emission from a liquid water film under the excitation of asymmetric optical fields
Applied Physics Letters, 2018Liquid water excited by intense two-color laser pulses radiates electromagnetic waves at terahertz frequencies. Compared with one-color excitation, two-orders of magnitude enhanced terahertz energy are observed by using asymmetric optical excitation with

Excitations of a nonstationary asymmetrical singular oscillator
Il Nuovo Cimento B Series 11, 1974The Schrodinger equation with a new nonstationary potential of the type 1/2ω2(t)r2 +f(θ, ϕ)r−2 is solved exactly. Normalized solutions and transition amplitudes between energy eigenstates are expressed in terms of Jacobi and Laguerre polynomials. Integrals of the motion are considered.

Asymmetric Bound States of Spiral Pairs in Excitable Media
Physical Review Letters, 2005We present a stable regime of asymmetric bound states for spiral pairs in a generic numerical model of a homogeneous excitable medium. In this regime, one spiral tip (slave) rotates around the other (master). Master-slave dynamics occur for both same-chirality and opposite-chirality spiral pairs in a range of parameters and initial conditions. We study
