Best approximation in spaces with asymmetric norm
In this paper we shall present some results on spaces with asymmetric seminorms, with emphasis on best approximation problems in such spaces.

L1-Norm Robust Regularized Extreme Learning Machine with Asymmetric C-Loss for Regression
Extreme learning machines (ELMs) have recently attracted significant attention due to their fast training speeds and good prediction effect. However, ELMs ignore the inherent distribution of the original samples, and they are prone to overfitting, which ...

Asymmetric Normed Baire Space [PDF]
We prove that an asymmetric normed space is never a Baire space if the topology induced by the asymmetric norm is not equivalent to the topology of a norm. More precisely, we show that a biBanach asymmetric normed space is a Baire space if and only if it is isomorphic to its associated normed space.

Extension of bounded linear functionals and best approximation in spaces with asymmetric norm
The present paper is concerned with the characterization of the elements of best approximation in a subspace \(Y\) of a space with asymmetric norm, in terms of some linear functionals vanishing on \(Y\).

Principal component analysis in an asymmetric norm [PDF]
The generalization of the PCA is proposed for quantiles and expectiles. Under the elliptically symmetric distributions it turns to the convential PCA. The proposed approach is suitable to study extremes of the multivariate data. Experiments with weather datasets illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

Tolerance for corruption and descriptive social norm: An experimental study of embezzlement.
Public tolerance for corruption within a society significantly influences the prevalence of corrupt practices, but less is known about how this tolerance evolves with social norms.

New Results on the Aggregation of Norms
It is a natural question if a Cartesian product of objects produces an object of the same type. For example, it is well known that a countable Cartesian product of metrizable topological spaces is metrizable.
