Compact bilinear operators on asymmetric normed spaces [PDF]

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2022
The paper is concerned with compact bilinear operators on asymmetric normed spaces. The study of multilinear operators on asymmetric normed spaces was initiated by Latreche and Dahia, Colloq. Math. (2020). We go further in this direction and prove a Schauder type theorem on the compactness of the adjoint of a compact bilinear operator and study the ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Kolmogorov-type inequalities for functions with asymmetric restrictions on the highest derivative

open access: yesResearches in Mathematics
For $k, r\in {\rm \bf N}$, $k0$; $\alpha, \beta>0$ and for functions $x\in L_{\infty}^r({\rm\bf R})$ inequalities that estimate the norm $\|x_{\pm }^{(k)}\|_{L_q[a,b]}$ on an arbitrary segment $[a,b] \subset {\rm\bf R}$ such that $\;x^{(k)}(a)=x^{(k)}(b)

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Neural responses to advantageous and disadvantageous inequity

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2012
In this paper we study neural responses to inequitable distributions of rewards despite equal performance. We specifically focus on differences between advantageous (AI) and disadvantageous inequity (DI).

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

The Impact of R&D Subsidy and IPP on Global Supply Chain Networks System—A Technology Spillover Perspective

open access: yesSystems, 2023
In the current globalized business environment, multinational competition has become the norm for companies. This paper considers technology spillovers among manufacturers and develops a global supply chain network equilibrium model. Firstly, the optimal

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
