Analytical solution of conductor tensile force in asymmetrical spans used in overhead power lines and substations with influence of tension insulators

open access: yesElectrical engineering & Electromechanics
Introduction. Designing electrical substations involves analyzing the horizontal tensile force in flexible tension conductors under varying temperatures. These temperature changes affect the conductor’s length and forces. Problem.

Speaker Normalization Using Cortical Strip Maps: A Neural Model for Steady State vowel Categorization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Auditory signals of speech are speaker-dependent, but representations of language meaning are speaker-independent. The transformation from speaker-dependent to speaker-independent language representations enables speech to be learned and understood from ...

Spin‐Dependent Generation of Surface‐Bound Radicals Toward Selective and Long‐Lasting Water Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops a novel atomic engineering strategy to fine‐tune the spin state of α‐Fe2O3 catalysts toward a medium‐spin state, thereby modulating peroxymonosulfate activation and selectively yielding surface‐bound radicals. Compared with free radicals, surface‐bound radicals exhibit moderated oxidation potential, extended lifespan, surface ...

Grid-Connected Harmonic Suppression Strategy Considering Phase-Locked Loop Phase-Locking Error Under Asymmetrical Faults

open access: yesEnergies
Harmonic distortion caused by phase jumps in the phase-locked loop (PLL) during asymmetric faults poses a significant threat to the secure operation of renewable energy grid-connected systems.

Electro‐Chemo‐Mechanical Coupling in Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 Ferroionic Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic of a ferroionic HZO heterostructure where epitaxial interfaces enable dynamic oxygen‐vacancy exchange, coupling ionic and ferroelectric degrees of freedom. Vacancy‐mediated polarization modulation biases HZO polymorphism, suppresses leakage, and enhances piezoelectric response, yielding distinct butterfly‐loop evolution and diode‐like ...

MODELING OF THREE-PHASE THREE LEG TRANSFORMER DEVICES FOR ENGINEERING CALCULATIONS OF ASYMMETRICAL MODES FOR DIFFERENT SCHEMES OF WINDING CONNECTIONS [PDF]

open access: yesProblems of the Regional Energetics, 2013
The model is proposed for the calculation and research of steady state asymmetric modes and transients in three-phase three legs transformer devices with arbitrary diagram of windings connection, taking into account the electromagnetic coupling of the ...

In Situ Amidation‐Derived Interfacial Modulation for Homogeneous Ultra‐High Nanoparticle Loading Toward Robust and Flexible Piezoelectric Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Synergistic interfacial strategy between inorganic ceramic fillers and polymer chains effectively inhibit particle aggregation and interfacial incompatibility. complex covalent and non‐covalent interfacial interactions promote superior uniformity, ultra‐high ceramic filler loading, and strong grain‐to‐grain connectivity, thereby enabling the ...

A Load Model to Reduce Computational Effort in Real-Time Simulation of Asymmetrical Short Circuits

open access: yes2025 IEEE Kiel PowerTech
Transient analyses of electrical networks demand highly accurate models to represent component behavior precisely, thereby increasing the computational burden of simulations. This aspect becomes critical when conducting real-time simulations, such as Hardware-in-the-Loop, as the computational weight of the models can make some case studies unfeasible ...

Interfacial and Crystallographic Regulation of Zinc Anode via Electric Double Layer Reconstruction for Highly Stable Zn Anode

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Trace amounts of perfluoro‐1‐butanesulfonyl fluoride enables the regulation of the Zn/electrolyte interface by the generated zincophilic ─SO3H groups with long hydrophobic ─CF2 tails, which adsorb strongly onto the Zn surface, displace water molecules from the inner Helmholtz plane, and reconstruct the electrical double‐layer structure.
