Purpose. To establish the prevalence of nasopupillary asymmetry (difference in nasopupillary distances) in the population and its relation with the interpupillary distance.Methods. A retrospective descriptive study was conducted by reviewing of 1262 medical records. The values of nasopupillary asymmetry and the interpupillary distance were obtained.

$D_s$ Asymmetry in Photoproduction [PDF]
By adopting two models of strange and antistrange quark distributions inside nucleon, the light-cone meson-baryon fluctuation model and the effective chiral quark model, we calculate the $D_s^+ - D_s^-$ asymmetry in photoproduction in the framework of ...

Statistical collisions of polyatomic molecules [PDF]
In statistical physics, the Gibbs canonical distribution is derived from the microcanonical distribution. In this article, the canonical distribution for pairwise collisions of polyatomic molecules in gases is derived from the microcanonical distribution

In birds, male gonads form on both sides whereas most females develop asymmetric gonads. Multiple early lines of evidence suggested that the right gonad fails to develop into a functional ovary, mainly due to differential expression of PITX2 in the ...

Testes asymmetry, condition and sexual selection in birds: an experimental test [PDF]
The functional significance of the marked directional asymmetry in testes size observed in many bird species is obscure. Møller suggested that (i) the smaller of the two testes serves a compensatory role and increases in size (and hence reduces ...

Polymethine dyes and J-aggregates: quantum‒classical theory of the shape of optical bands [PDF]
A new theoretical approach is proposed to explain the nature of the well-known narrow and intense optical J-band of J-aggregates of polymethine dyes. The old approach proposed by Franck and Teller in 1938 and based on the Frenkel exciton theory does not ...

Recognition of the interiors of de Sitter-Kerr black holes from their shadows [PDF]
We investigate the asymmetry of shadows of rotating black holes, as a source of information on their interior content, for black holes of the Kerr-Schild class, specified by Ttt = Trr.
