Asymptotic analysis of ramanujan pairs

open access: yesAequationes Mathematicae, 1985
A Ramanujan pair consists of two sequences \(\{a_ n\}\) and \(\{b_ n\}\) of positive integers such that \[ \prod_{n\geq 1}(1-q^{a_ n})^{- 1}=1+\sum_{n\geq 1}\frac{q^{b_ 1+b_ 2+...+b_ n}}{(1-q)(1-q^ 2)...(1-q^ n)}. \] A number of Ramanujan pairs can be found among the classical partition identities and their are ten known examples. This paper deals with

Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges

FOS3D: A Fluorescence‐Enabled Toolkit for Characterizing a Three‐dimensional Osteosarcoma Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FOS3D describes fluorescent (F) osteosarcoma (OS) cells in a tri‐dimensional (3D) model. The study comprises three phases: development, where biofabrication parameters are tuned to achieve cytocompatibility and tumor‐specific mechanical properties in cell‐laden gelatin methacryloyl constructs; validation, where whole‐well fluorescence reading is ...

The Conformal Approach to Asymptotic Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This essay was written as an extended version of a talk given at a conference in Strasbourg on "Riemann, Einstein and geometry", organized by Athanase Papadopoulos in September 2014. Its aim is to present Roger Penrose's approach to asymptotic analysis in general relativity, which is based on conformal geometric techniques, focusing on historical and ...

Asymptotic Separability in Sensitivity Analysis

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 2000
Summary In an observational study in which each treated subject is matched to several untreated controls by using observed pretreatment covariates, a sensitivity analysis asks how hidden biases due to unobserved covariates might alter the conclusions.

Brain‐Computer Interface Training Fosters Perceptual Skills to Detect Errors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Accurate perception of visuomotor errors underpins motor precision and learning, yet conventional behavioral training fails to improve sensitivity to subtle errors. Real‐time EEG‐based brain‐computer interface feedback targeting the error positivity component enhances perceptual learning of small errors.

Asymptotic analysis of multiserver retrial queueing system with \(\pi\)-defeat of negative arrivals under heavy load

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Models and Applied Computational Science
The paper studies a multiserver retrial queuing system with \(\pi\)-defeat as a mathematical model of cloud services. The arrival processes of “positive” calls are Poisson.
