Asymptotic profiles for the third grade fluids׳ equations [PDF]
We study the long time behaviour of the solutions of the third grade fluids equations in dimension 2. Introducing scaled variables and performing several energy estimates in weighted Sobolev spaces, we describe the first order of an asymptotic expansion of these solutions.

APD profiles and transfinite asymptotic dimension [PDF]
We develop the theory of APD profiles introduced by J. Dydak for $\infty$-pseudometric spaces. We connect them with transfinite asymptotic dimension defined by T. Radul. We give a characterization of spaces with transfinite asymptotic dimension at most $ω+n$ for $n\inω$ and a sufficient condition for a space to have transfinite asymptotic dimension at ...

Protected node profile of Tries [PDF]
In a rooted tree, protected nodes are neither leaves nor parents of any leaves. They have some practical motivations, e.g., in organizational schemes, security models and social-network models.

Density profile asymptotes at the centre of dark matter halos [PDF]
For the spherical symmetric case, all quantities describing the relaxed dark matter halo can be expressed as functions of the gravitational potential $Φ$. Decomposing the radial velocity dispersion $σ_r$ with respect to $Φ$ at very large and very small radial distances the possible asymptotic behavior for the density and velocity profiles can be ...

Long-time behavior of a nonlocal dispersal logistic model with seasonal succession
This paper is devoted to a nonlocal dispersal logistic model with seasonal succession in one-dimensional bounded habitat, where the seasonal succession accounts for the effect of two different seasons.

On the Hénon equation: Asymptotic profile of ground states, II
This paper is concerned with the qualitative property of the ground state solutions for the Hénon equation. By studying a limiting equation on the upper half space \mathbf{R}_{ + }^{N} , we investigate the asymptotic energy and the asymptotic profile of the ground states for the Hénon ...

Travelling water waves along a quartic bottom profile; pp. 166–171 [PDF]
The problem of transmission of wave energy in strongly inhomogeneous media is discussed with application to long water waves propagating in a basin with a quartic bottom profile.

Likelihood ratios are frequently utilized as basis for statistical tests, for model selection criteria and for assessing parameter and prediction uncertainties, e.g. using the profile likelihood. However, translating these likelihood ratios into p-values

Stability of Non-Isolated Asymptotic Profiles for Fast Diffusion [PDF]
The stability of asymptotic profiles of solutions to the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem for Fast Diffusion Equation (FDE, for short) is discussed. The main result of the present paper is the stability of any asymptotic profiles of least energy. It is noteworthy that this result can cover non-isolated profiles, e.g., those for thin annular domain cases.

Asymptotic Profiles of Solutions for Structural Damped Wave Equations [PDF]
In this paper, we obtain several asymptotic profiles of solutions to the Cauchy problem for structurally damped wave equations $\partial_{t}^{2} u - Δu + ν(-Δ)^σ \partial_{t} u=0$, where $ν>0$ and $0< σ\le1$. Our result is the approximation formula of the solution by a constant multiple of a special function as $t \to \infty$, which states that ...
