Asymptotic Speeds of Spread for a Nonlocal Diffusion Equation

Journal of Dynamics and Differential Equations, 2016
The author studies the spatial spreading dynamics of a class of nonlocal diffusion equation \[ {u_t}(t,x) = (J * u - u)(t,x) + f(u,G * * S(u))(t,x), \] where \(t \geq 0\), \(x \in \mathbb R\) and \(J \in {L^1}(\mathbb R)\) is a nonnegative symmetric kernel function.

Optimum asymptotic multiuser efficiency of randomly spread CDMA

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2000
Summary: This correspondence analyzes the high signal-to-noise ratio performance of optimum multiuser detectors for synchronous direct-sequence spread spectrum with random spreading in an additive white Gaussian noise channel. Under very general conditions on the received powers, we show that the optimum asymptotic efficiency of a \(K\)-user system ...

Asymptotic Approach to the Hill Model of Spread in Rolling

Journal of Engineering Materials and Technology, 1995
A simplified procedure for the solution of the spread model proposed by Hill (1963) is presented for situations where the strip width is greater than the roll-gap length. The method utilizes a perturbation expansion for the width function and results in a simple analytical solution, overcoming the difficulties involved in solving the original complex ...

Note on analytic spread and asymptotic sequences

Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 1983
Since the foundational paper (10) by Northcott and Rees in 1954 there have been quite a few papers concerning reductions of ideals and the analytic spread of an ideal. One particular line of investigation concerning the analytic spread l(I) of an ideal I in a local ring (R, M) was begun in 1972 by Burch in (5), where it was shown that l(I) ≤ altitude R

Dynamics and asymptotical behavior of spreading processes in a closed system

Physical Review E, 2004
We construct differential-integrative equations to investigate the effects of different distributions for the incubation period, defined as the period between receiving of the message and the beginning of the active state, and for the active period, the length of the active state, on the spreading dynamics in a closed system where one member can be ...

Asymptotic bounds on the Optimum Multiuser Efficiency of randomly spread CDMA

2014 12th International Symposium on Modeling and Optimization in Mobile, Ad Hoc, and Wireless Networks (WiOpt), 2014
We derive some bounds on the Optimum Asymptotic Multiuser Efficiency (OAME) of randomly spread CDMA as extensions of the result by Tse and Verdu. To this end, random Gaussian and random binary antipodal spreading are considered. Furthermore, the input signal is assumed to be Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK).
