Spread of branching diffusion: Sharp asymptotics
Stochastics and Stochastic Reports, 2004A one-dimensional branching diffusion with a stable drift is considered. Let Rt denote the position of the rightmost particle at time t. It is shown that Rt , properly normalized, has a limiting distribution.

The asymptotic spread of estimators
Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 1989The spread and asymptotic spread of estimators are discussed. Inequalities on local and global asymptotic spread of estimators are derived under certain regularity conditions.

Optimum asymptotic multiuser efficiency of randomly spread CDMA
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2000Summary: This correspondence analyzes the high signal-to-noise ratio performance of optimum multiuser detectors for synchronous direct-sequence spread spectrum with random spreading in an additive white Gaussian noise channel. Under very general conditions on the received powers, we show that the optimum asymptotic efficiency of a \(K\)-user system ...

Note on analytic spread and asymptotic sequences
Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 1983Since the foundational paper (10) by Northcott and Rees in 1954 there have been quite a few papers concerning reductions of ideals and the analytic spread of an ideal. One particular line of investigation concerning the analytic spread l(I) of an ideal I in a local ring (R, M) was begun in 1972 by Burch in (5), where it was shown that l(I) ≤ altitude R

Asymptotic Speeds of Spread for a Nonlocal Diffusion Equation
Journal of Dynamics and Differential Equations, 2016The author studies the spatial spreading dynamics of a class of nonlocal diffusion equation \[ {u_t}(t,x) = (J * u - u)(t,x) + f(u,G * * S(u))(t,x), \] where \(t \geq 0\), \(x \in \mathbb R\) and \(J \in {L^1}(\mathbb R)\) is a nonnegative symmetric kernel function.

Analytic spread and non-vanishing of asymptotic depth
Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 2017AbstractLetSbe a polynomial ring over a fieldKof characteristic zero and letM⊂Sbe an ideal given as an intersection of powers of incomparable monomial prime ideals (e.g., the case whereMis a squarefree monomial ideal). In this paper we provide a very effective, sufficient condition for a monomial prime idealP⊂ScontainingMbe such that the ...

Asymptotic Behavior, Spreading Speeds, and Traveling Waves of Nonmonotone Dynamical Systems
SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2015Let \(C=BC(\mathbb{R}^N,\mathbb{R})\) and \(C_+=BC(\mathbb{R}^N,\mathbb{R}_+)\), which is of the norm \(\|\phi\|_C\) deduced by the so-called compact open topology. Consider the iteration system \(u_{n+1}(x)=Q[u_n](x)\), \(u_0=\phi\), where \(Q:C_+\to C_+\) is continuous and compact. In [ibid. 13, 353--396 (1982; Zbl 0529.92010)], \textit{H.

Acquisition in direct-sequence spread-spectrum communication networks: an asymptotic analysis
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1993The effect of multiple-access interference on the acquisition of direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DS/SS) signals is studied. A passive matched filter approach is used, and the acquisition window length, which is the length of the matched filter, determines the complexity of the acquisition scheme.

Global asymptotic stability for a vector disease model with spatial spread
Journal of Mathematical Biology, 1980We analyze the global behaviour of a vector disease model which involves spatial spread and hereditary effects. This model can be applied to investigate growth and spread of malaria. No immunization is considered. We prove that, if the recovery rate is less than or equal to a threshold value, the disease dies out, otherwise the infectious people ...
