This paper is concerned with the estimation of spreading speed of a nonmonotone equation, which involves time delay and nonlocal dispersal. Due to the time delay, this equation does not generate monotone semiflows when the positive initial value is given.

Approximate solution to the speed of spreading viruses [PDF]
Recently, it has been shown that the speed of virus infections can be explained by time-delayed reaction-diffusion [J. Fort and V. Méndez, Phys. Rev. Lett. 89, 178101 (2002)], but no analytical solutions were found. Here we derive formulas for the front speed, valid in appropriate limits.

Speed of injection and spread of bupivacaine in the epidural space [PDF]
Summary Speed of injection of bupivacaine was assessed in 73 women who received epidural analgesia in labour. Rapid injection was shown to produce quicker onset of epidural block and more reliable perineal anaesthesia than slow injection, but there was no difference in the final extent of the block.
