Investigation of Magnetic Isolation in a Double-Side Asynchronous Rotor-AFPM Machine Based on Harmonic Analysis

open access: yesIEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print)
Electric machines are important components in the actuators of robot dogs, but these actuators usually need several freedoms. To get two free mechanical ports, the double-side asynchronous rotor axial-flux permanent magnet (DSAR-AFPM) machine is proposed.

Seismic analysis and design of tunnels within fault ground: A review

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The research methods of seismic response of tunnels within fault ground, including field investigations, analytical solutions, physical experiments, and numerical simulations, and seismic countermeasures are discussed. The present study examines the shortcomings and limitations of the current research and design, and puts forward proposals for future ...

CONTROL OF CYCLOCONVERTERS FOR FEEDING OF ASYNCHRONOUS MACHINES

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1977
Abstract For the cycloconverter operation of thyristor bridges in anti-parallel connection, control techniques by which the output frequency can be considerably increased have been published. In the present investigation such an improved cycloconverter is used for the stator current control of a speed-controlled induction motor.

A shining starlet: Nematostella vectensis as a model for developmental, regenerative, and comparative biology

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract The sea anemone, Nematostella vectensis, has been used as a model organism in developmental biology studies for many years. This estuarine species has the notable capacity to regenerate its full body plan from small pieces throughout life. Nematostella have been described as having a great degree of cellular plasticity.

Electromagnetic field coupled circuits and open‐loop control of fast starting processes in induction motors

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
To solve the problems of difficulty in speed measurement and low accuracy of speed measurement of induction motor (IM) during fast starting, the electromagnetic field coupling circuit (EFCC) and open‐loop control of IM considering rapid speed change are ...

Timeout Asynchronous Session Types: Safe Asynchronous Mixed-Choice For Timed Interactions [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science
Mixed-choice has long been barred from models of asynchronous communication since it compromises the decidability of key properties of communicating finite-state machines.

A Critical Review of Electrolytes for Sodium‐Zinc Hybrid Ion Batteries: From Liquid to Solid

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review systematically discusses the evolutionary roadmap of electrolytes from liquid to quasi‐solid and ultimately to all‐solid‐state structures for aqueous sodium‐zinc hybrid ion batteries (ASZIBs), which focuses the critical bottlenecks of uncontrolled dual‐ion transport and interfacial incompatibility, and proposes corresponding countermeasures

Detecting high‐frequency oscillations in real time during epilepsy surgery with neuromorphic hardware validated to predict postoperative seizure outcome

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective High‐frequency oscillations (HFOs; 250–500 Hz) in electrocorticography (ECoG) are promising biomarkers for delineating the epileptogenic zone during epilepsy surgery. Accurate, intraoperative real‐time detection of HFOs may guide surgical resection to improve seizure outcome.

Hybrid Inverters With Dual Switching Frequencies for Switched Reluctance Motors

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A hybrid dual‐switching‐frequency inverter for SRMs is proposed, combining SiC and IGBT devices based on rotor inductance. The method enables accurate current tracking with simple hysteresis control, significantly reducing torque ripple, vibration, and acoustic noise while cutting inverter cost compared to full‐SiC solutions.
