3-phase asynchronous motors for traction drives on BR
Proceedings of the 1991 IEEE/ASME Joint Railroad Conference, 2002The simplicity and robustness of the three-phase asynchronous motor make it attractive for traction applications. Attempts to use it go back to the turn of the century. It was, however, the appearance of the microprocessor and high-power GTO that made the three-phase package attractive for general applications.

Study of an Asynchronous Traction Motor with Inclined Slot Rotor
World of Transport and TransportationModernisation of railway rolling stock which is quite relevant from the perspective of growing performance of railways can be achieved among other ways through improvement of features of traction drive, namely of traction electric motors, that defined the objective of the study.

Reducing the vibration of bearing units of electric vehicle asynchronous traction motors
Journal of Vibration and Control, 2020The impact of the accuracy class of bearings, rotational speed, load, clearances, and fits on the vibration levels of electric motor bearing units is investigated. The ways to reduce the vibrations of mechanical origin are offered. The boundary vibration levels of asynchronous motors limited by vibration levels of 40 dB at a frequency of 5 Hz and 80 dB

The results of bench and operational tests of AT250L4Y2 traction electric motors in a system of the traction drive of a trolley bus are described. An example is given of implementing testing equipment enabling one to simulate the operation of the traction motor and the drive at the conditional settlement stage.

The directional control of the direct magnetic fields of the induction motor can improve the dynamic response speed of the motor, and its flux observation link is located in the feedback channel, so it has better parameter insensitivity than the indirect field-oriented control.

A Combined Model Flux Observer for Vector Control of Traction Asynchronous Motors
2007 7th International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems, 2007Vector control induction motor drives are particularly sensitive to the variation of motor parameters. As a consequence, the field orientation is missed, leading to substantial degradation of performance. The performance of traction motors can be even more degraded by the substantial core loss due to their high supply frequency.

Abstract Torque of AC motors fed by current source inverter is suitably controlled by regulation of the torque angle of the motor which provides very good stability and performances without the need of a speed or position feed-back. A very simple circuit is presented to perform this control strategy with good efficiency.

Study of a test system for asynchronous traction motors using sinusoidal current
Известия высших учебных заведений. ЭлектромеханикаThis study investigates methods to reduce output voltage harmonics in autonomous voltage source inverters (VSI) uti-lized in high-speed trains by comparing two modulation techniques: Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SV-PWM) and Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation (SHE-PWM).
