Simulation of dynamical processes specific to asynchronous traction motors
SPEEDAM 2010, 2010In case of motors working in complex dynamical regimes, evaluation by modeling and simulation of electromagnetic and mechanical stresses, becomes a mandatory objective. In the present paper, means of investigation are presented and, on this basis, some dynamical processes of traction asynchronous motors are analyzed.

Calculation of asynchronous traction motor start-up characteristics by FEM method
International Symposium on Power Electronics Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 20122D and 3D calculation of squirrel-cage traction motor start-up characteristics at rated voltage and frequency have been performed by using a numerical FEM based program. From the equivalent circuit parameters, which are obtained by analytical calculation, a simulation of a start-up using an analytical dynamic model was performed.
