A Dynamic Model of Predation

open access: yesThe RAND Journal of Economics, Volume 56, Issue 4, Page 738-755, Winter 2025.
ABSTRACT We study the feasibility and profitability of predation in a dynamic environment, using a parsimonious infinite‐horizon, complete information setting in which an incumbent repeatedly faces potential entry. When a rival enters, the incumbent chooses whether to accommodate or predate it; the entrant then decides whether to stay or exit.

Prediction of Temperature Conditions of Autothermal Thermophilic Aerobic Digestion Bioreactors at Wastewater Treatment Plants [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal Bioautomation, 2016
Energy integration plays a significant role in increasing energy efficiency and sustainability of production systems. In order to model real energy integrated systems, sometimes we don't need rigorous models for involved units, but easily implemented and

Efficacy of Aspirin Therapy After Desensitization on Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps Patients With Asthma and Non‐steroidal Anti‐inflammatory Drug Exacerbated Respiratory Disease —A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 80, Issue 11, Page 3151-3164, November 2025.
This randomized double‐blind clinical trial investigated the impact of aspirin therapy after desensitization in patients with CRSwNP, asthma, and N‐ERD. Various clinical outcomes were assessed, including health‐related quality of life (with the SNOT‐22 questionnaire) and the severity of nasal polyposis (with the NPS).

Towards a microbial thermoelectric cell. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Microbial growth is an exothermic process. Biotechnological industries produce large amounts of heat, usually considered an undesirable by-product. In this work, we report the construction and characterization of the first microbial thermoelectric cell ...

Understanding brain donation decisions: Predictors of indecision and change over time from the Cleveland Alzheimer's Disease Research Center

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 9, September 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Little is known about factors influencing indecision or changes in brain donation program (BDP) enrollment status among Alzheimer's disease and related dementias research participants. This study examined demographic features associated with these decisions in participants from the Cleveland Alzheimer's Disease Research Center ...

Swamped: On Depression and Vision

open access: yesAmerican Anthropologist, Volume 127, Issue 3, Page 415-423, September 2025.
ABSTRACT “Swamped” cracks open my experience of depression by exploring how a specific place—a swamp—acted on me to bring social and emotional injuries, but also modes of seeing that ultimately moved me out of the depression, to the fore. In writing from this specific place, I build on moments in which something—a desire for beauty, the luminosity of ...
