Calibration of ventilation/perfusion match in electrical impedance tomography: a novel method based on arterial blood pressure

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
IntroductionElectrical impedance tomography (EIT) enables non-invasive, continuous, bedside evaluation of ventilation/perfusion (V/Q) match. To avoid the presence of invasive monitoring for cardiac output in relative V/Q ratio calculation, we proposed a ...

Non‐Syndromic Tumefactive Demyelinating Lesions in the Pediatric Population: Four Case Reports and Review of the Literature

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 87-94, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Tumefactive demyelinating lesions (TDLs) are large lesions (> 2 cm) seen in demyelinating syndromes such as multiple sclerosis, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody‐associated disorder, and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder. Diagnostic Value of Heparin‐Binding Protein (HBP) in Pulmonary Infection After Radical Surgery for Lung Cancer: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Heparin‐binding protein (HBP) has the potential clinical utility in the early diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of infectious diseases. We aimed to assess the early diagnostic value of HBP in combination with other biomarkers for detecting pulmonary infection post‐surgery.

Thoracic Ultrasound–Related Management Change: Predictors and the Role of Operator Certification (Secondary Analysis of UltraMAN)

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 54, Issue 3, Page 635-641, March/April 2026.
Thoracic ultrasound frequently altered ICU management decisions. Changes were more likely in patients with cardiovascular disease or hypovolemia and occurred independently of operator certification. These findings support the routine use of TUS in critically ill patients, even when performed by less‐experienced but supervised operators.

A Systematic Mapping Review of Core Outcome Reporting in Surgical Research for Oesophageal Cancer

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, Volume 133, Issue 3, Page 389-405, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Oesophageal carcinoma is a rising global health burden, with surgical resection and perioperative chemotherapy forming the cornerstone of curative treatment. However, uncertainty persists regarding the optimal surgical approach, partly due to heterogeneity in outcome reporting, which hinders data synthesis and evidence‐based decision‐making ...
