Ultrasound‐Guided Thoracic Paravertebral Block With Liposomal Versus Standard Bupivacaine for Older Patients After Thoracoscopic Surgery

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The study aimed to investigate the effect of thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB) with liposomal bupivacaine (LB) before anesthesia induction on postoperative pain, quality of recovery (QoR), and opioid consumption in older patients after video‐assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS).

Comparison of Different Neostigmine Doses for Reversal of Cisatracurium‐Induced Neuromuscular Block in Children Under Total Intravenous Anesthesia: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesPediatric Anesthesia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neostigmine is widely used to reverse nondepolarizing neuromuscular blockade in children, but the optimal dose under total intravenous anesthesia is uncertain. Aims The primary aim was to compare the time to full neuromuscular recovery (TOF ratio of 1.0) following administration of neostigmine at doses of 0, 10, 20, and 30 μg/kg in ...

Lung V5 and Planning Target Volume/Lung Volume Ratio as Independent Risk Factors for ≥Grade 2 Radiation Pneumonitis after Moderately Hypofractionated Radiotherapy: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, EarlyView.
Lung V5 and the planning target volume/lung volume ratio were identified as independent dosimetric risk factors for clinically significant radiation pneumonitis following moderately hypofractionated radiotherapy for lung cancer. Maintaining V5 < 35% may help mitigate this risk in clinical practice.

Risk Factors for Complications Following Paediatric Neuromuscular and Syndromic Scoliosis Correction Surgery: A Systematic Review

open access: yesANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Paediatric neuromuscular and syndromic scoliosis patients have multiple medical comorbidities that increase the risk of postoperative complications. There is a lack of consistent literature assessing the specific risk factors for complications following scoliosis correction surgery in this high‐risk cohort.
